In 1929 the entire Kingsburg Community came together to support our KHS Football Team. In a David vs. Goliath match-up between tiny Kingsburg and gargantuan Bakersfield, the entire community of Kingsburg rallied to support the team (see Viking Express in this edition)
Now our community has the opportunity to do it again… show support for the Youth of Kingsburg.
Back to Normal
Kingsburg High School, Kingsburg Elementary, Clay, Kings River, Traver, and Home Schools are off and running for the 2021-2022 School Year. In-class instruction and in-person sports and activities mean a return to what feels like normal. Now it is time for the Kingsburg Community to support our student athletes, academics, and artists.
Kingsburg Youth Sports Teams are preparing for the upcoming seasons: Football, Basketball, Soccer, Track and Field, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Swim, the list is long.
Musical Clubs, Drama Clubs, Church Youth Groups, will be performing, volunteering, and sometimes asking for donations.
How Can Kingsburg Help?
Whether it is Kingsburg Youth Sports, school musical productions, or any other youth endeavor, the support of the community is both encouraging and unifying.
- Attend sporting events, musical performances, and other youth endeavors
- Donate or buy what youth are promoting to raise funds
- Check out youth activities on school and sport websites or Facebook pages
- Ask neighbors and friends about events happening in Kingsburg
- Be ready to give a word of encouragement and thanks to all the volunteers, coaches, parents, teachers, etc. that give time and money to make sure our kids’ activities continue.
Community Support Makes a Difference
“Kingsburg Athletics is very blessed to have the support of our community. I know that our student-athletes and coaches greatly appreciate seeing our community members at our athletic events.” Scott Hodges, KHS Athletic Director
“As cheerleaders we’re always working to engage the crowd as much as possible. It not only shows support for our sports teams, but it encourages us to do better as well.” Emily Valencia, KHS Cheer Squad
“When we were new in town, the baseball community in Kingsburg was a key factor in meeting some of the best people, who are now dear friends. There is something so special about seeing everyone come together to support these boys and become extensions of our families. The hard work and dedication of the coaches, parents, members of the community, people who work behind the scenes, as well as these sweet boys is appreciated. The community support has been a blessing to our son and I know many other families as well.
Thank You Kingsburg for your support and being a big part of our son’s love of this game.”
Lori Fondon, KYBA parent.
“Kingsburg Football Boosters works to support our KHS FOOTBALL team in any way that they need it in order to help make our program successful and something the community can support and be proud of. The high school provides the team with protective gear and pays the refs, and transportation. The boosters, with the support from the community, provide the rest. Our squad this year consists of over 140 athletes give or take. We feed them all every week, provide uniforms, iPads for coaching staff, spirit gear for coaches and players, programs for the community… to name a few. Kingsburg is a special place for our athletes. We provide high quality coaches and a life experience that goes well beyond just football. It truly does take a village. GO VIKINGS!” Cindy Carender, Kingsburg Viking Football Boosters
I know most Kingsburg residents will agree, 2021-2022 will be a wonderful year to support our youth!
